The market near the port is especially popular for fresh seasonal fish, blue crab and shrimp. The 15th and 30th day of the month on the lunar calendar are said to be the best tide times, hence you can taste the freshest seafood if you go on those days. The seafood here is so fresh, they’re still wiggling in the vendors’ tubs, and in spring, you should try blue crab.

Sorae Ecology Park
Exit 2 -> 1km / 15min
Operated as a salt farm until 1996, the area was re-purposed into an ecology park with a golden field of reeds and red windmills. Part of the old salt farm was restored and currently serves as an education and experience center where visitors can try their hands at salt raking. At the park’s exhibition hall, which used to be the salt storehouse, you can see and learn about salt plantation and the surrounding area.

Masian Beach
Exit 2 -> 1km / 15min
If you take the maglev train from the Incheon International Airport, you can get to Yongyu Station in about 12 minutes. After a short walk along Masiran-ro Street, you’ll see Masian Beach, where you can see a wetland and a sandy beach at the same time. When the tide is high it is a regular sandy beach, but when the tide rides low, a black mud flat surfaces and you can collect shells and experience the muddy ecosystem.

An Island That Looks Like a Shark Fin?

From Yeongjongdo Island’s Geojampo Quay, you can see a small island called Maedorang, an uninhabited island that looks like a Shark fin. Often referred to as “Shark Island,” it offers beautiful views of the sunrise and the Incheondaegyo Bridge.

Forget the typical summer waves and winter snow, here you can enjoy snow sledding, water rides, and also shopping all year-round. The Tugel Ride, which is one of the most popular rides of the water park, takes you from the outdoor park on the 7th floor to the indoor park on the 4th floor in no time. This is a great place to experience summer snow and winter waves.

Aqua Planet Ilsan

Explore the ocean and the jungle while in the city. You can walk under the submarine tunnel and see huge stingrays and sharks swimming over your head. Trainers dancing and synchronized swimming with fish in shoals is a popular attraction of the park. Visitors can also see jungle animals like two-toes sloths and squirrel monkeys.

Ilsan Lake Park

You can ride a bike or take a walk around the lake, or enjoy the picturesque sunset from the pavilion in Dalmajiseom (Moonrise Islet) in the middle of the lake. As the sun goes down, the “Singing Fountain” puts on a magical show of water dancing to colorful lights and music, like a sparkling fireworks show.

Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center
Exit 3 -> connecting
Referred to as a “global arts center in touch with the people,” Goyang Aram Nuri lets people enjoy classical music as if it were a “walk in the park.” The Aram Concert Hall, a classical music hall, is so grand in size and sound quality that even world-famous artists have praised it. Among many other facilities, there is an art gallery that’s worth visiting.

Do you want to go shopping or eat at a famous restaurant? Lafesta vs Western Dom
After a walk in the park, you can go to one of the nearby malls. Lafesta has a gourmand alley with bars open until late into the night, and at Western Dom you can shop and have fun regardless of the weather.
